There is a BF42 for Mac Runs like shit tho, so when I really want to game I fire up Windows XP on it. Native. No need for emulation anymore after they got the Intel CPU's in

BF42 for Mac runs very well if you have an outdated Mac. That sounds odd and is, in fact, a little odd, but the situation is this: Macs used to use a the PowerPC processor. Programs for Intel/AMD don't work on PowerPC and vice-versa. BF42 was ported to Mac while Apple still used PowerPC. I got one of the last PowerPC iMacs Apple made, so it works well for me.
Then, Apple switched to Intel processors. There's a program called Rosetta, which will translate PowerPC programs for Intel. It's really an amazing piece of software, it can get programs up to the speed of a 1 GHz PowerPC CPU. That's enough for many tasks, but not for games. My laptop has a 1 Ghz PowerPC, and it sucks for games (which is why I'm going to buy a new one soonish).
So, if you have an old PowerPC Mac, especially a powerful PowerPC Mac, lke I do (bought mine a month before Apple changed to Intel), then BF42 runs perfectly. If you have an Intel Mac, no matter how powerful, BF42 gets translated by Rosetta and sucks.
So today's lesson is: Outdated computers still have their use.
