Basically, lets have a thread where you can post random facts you learned today. Post em no matter how boring, or humourous, or off topic they may be.

I will start out with a couple examples

It's a proven fact that 70% of statistics are made up on the spot to prove a point

If you buy an after market radiator, be sure to paint it black. Black promotes radiant heat transfer, which in the end cools your engine better.

Take a chess board (or checkers board) and place a 10 pence piece (or similar unit of currency) on the bottom left square.

now place 2 coins on the next square to the right of it. place 4 coins on the next square then 8, then 16, then 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024...etc... and keep doubling the amount as you 'snake' up the entire board filling it with coins.

By the time you reach the last square your coin tower is high enough to reach the moon AND back again.
