As I said in the chatbox, I know an archeologist from here. We sometimes go into the woods to search with the metal detector. Here I write down what we've found. If you guys find anything of interest in the ground too, you can post it here.
This is from the chatbox, as a beginning:
Been in the woods again with the local archeologist, Jurgen. Found a LOT of shards of an old teapot and of a dish. Both from presumably around 1900, but we've found more shards of an other dish, which is presumably from around the 1850s. Next of those objects there was an old spoon and glass cups from around the same period as the dishes. Also we've found something which looks like a piece of jewelry (glass with a silver coating). This was all found on a nearly abandoned trail. We think there once was an old farm, which was destroyed. The rubbish which was left was maybe used to reinforce this trail, because we've also found LOTS of the same kind of bricks.
I'll add pictures as soon as I got them from Jurgen.

This is totally cool Mark. America has nothing for old artifacts in the ground. I'm jealous. Happy hunting and I hope you find some old Kubelwagen parts ))

Maybe choncho... There was a fight during WW2 in the woods where we've looked. Jurgen (the archeologist) said he had found lots of Stengun bullets and MG bullets there. So there may be a tiny chance we dig up old WW2 vehicle parts xD

I made a walk with Jurgen again this Saturday. We've gone back to the place where we've found lots of spoons and dishes, etc last time. We've found some old kitchen knives, a purse from the 50's, more old dishes, etc. Later on we continued walking and in the middle of the woods we've found some kind of heavy tube, which is maybe a vehicle part. Maybe we're close to finding a Kubelwagen now! xD

Soooo, I've been searching with Jurgen a lot of times since I posted the last message in this thread... Found old (still unexploded) WW2 bombs (we called the Explosive Ordnance Disposal for that), found WW2 bullets, coins, shrapnel, Dutch Eighty Years' War (1568–1648) bullets, old gate locks, pottery shards and lots more!
Jurgen (the archeologist) gave me an old US WW2 Normandy dog tag. I did some research and I've found a lot of info concerning the soldier. Jurgen and I talked about it and we think about searching for the soldier's (if he's still alive) or his family's contact details. A few months ago a Dutch guy somewhere in the Netherlands had the same experience. He found a US dog tag from Operation Market Garden and contacted the soldier's family. He then got a free flight to the States and gave the dog tag to it's rightful owners.
I hope we can find the family of the soldier of our dog tag. I'm really excited!
Did Explosive Ordinance Disposal blow up the bomb or just remove it?
They've examined the bombs and when they were done with that they made the decision to remove it or blow it up. Jurgen and I had to leave early, so we don't know what they did with the bombs.
