Probably, if someone can be offended by another persons views. Then the offended person needs to realize that everyone should be entitled to their own views. Free speech isn't free if everyone has to share the same views. Being polite is like communism. The whole world may get overall better, but the individual suffers for they are never free.
There's a iine between having your own point of view (which is good) and going out and telling others that their point of view is shit (that is bad). Everyone has to see for himself where that line is, but ignoring the line is wrong (in my opinion).
Am I, are you free in a world where nobody is polite? Where wherever you turn, you may face nastiness? Where people don't even bother to cool down and think before saying something? I say nobody is not free in such a world, for no one is even remotely free from attack in such a scenario. Freedom is not a switch you flip, it's something that happens when you line up all those thousands variables just right.

freedom in the purest sense of the word is anarchy. As we give up freedoms we slowly make our way to Communism. Also, it is not like if I see a gay/black/retard or any other stereo type on the street I will single them out and tell them what I think of them. I ignore them, just like I ignore everyone else I don't know. That being said, if you are ever in a conversation with some one with opposing views to your own, and you don't vocalize your opinion in hopes to be polite, then you lead that person and anyone else who may be listening astray to think that you and or a larger percentage of the population thinks the way you do not think... I could have probably rephrased that last sentence better, but its 1:30 in the morning, and I gotta get up at 6...

Anarchy isn't freedom. Anarchy means rule of the strongest, and it's freedom only for him. In fact, at best it's freedom for him, because he won't be free from others trying to deplace him. Pure freedom can only happen when no other people are around to annoy you or be annoyed by you, plain and simple. The more people you live with, the more you have to decide what freedom you want and what not.
And anyway, when you are in a conversation with someone whose views you don't share about a particular topic, then it's all right to point that out. There just is a fine line between doing that in a cooperative manner, where you might want to convince someone else, and a confrontational manner, and you have to ask yourself: Do I get money for offending people?

no anarchy means no rules... not rule of the strongest...
Also, how do you tell a gay person in a non confrontational matter that you believe his condition is purely a side effect of chemical misbalances in his brain. And that if he had normal chemical levels he wouldn't want to stick his junk in another mans rectum.

No rules can only work with exactly one person. As soon as two persons have opposite interests (both want access to a limited shared resource, for example) rules have to be established and will be established, either by consensus or force.
As for the question: I don't know, I never held that opinion. Open homosexuality is something I consider weird, though. However, when I replace that "weird" with "unusual", I haven't started lying about my personal feelings, just dampened it down a bit, and I still managed to stay friendly (I hope). Is there anything wrong with that course of action? Yes, I've given up my freedom to say "You're weird" here, but I do believe that not insulting someone I'm talking with is worth it. What use is freedom to me if everybody hates me? Freedom's just another word for nothing left to loose.

see thats the thing about anarchy, it's as impossible to achieve as utopia. As soon as you have two people one or both people must give up their freedom for the security in knowing that they can access the resourse without fear of the other party responding negatively. At which case there are rules put into play and the system is no longer an anarchy. In true anarchy, no one cares.
It is your own personal opinion. To me it is nonsensical to be offended by another opinions. So to be worried about someone getting offended by my opinion is therefore also nonsensical.
