Hey Massive I like your idea! But isn't that what the is04 team are doing? If they do anything at all these days.. And about improving graphics: There are a few things that can be done to make it look better, OBJECT LIGHTMAPS!! Still they are a total bitch to deal with, I can't sort it out at all.

We can't exactly change the game engine with a mod. The most that could be done to improve graphic is higher detail in cars, but that can make the game lag because of the way the engine is made. What can be done to improve realism is also limited too because Battlefield 1942 wasn't focused on making cars drive realisticly so we can't really improve it much. This is why we need ot get an Interstate mod onto BF2 because there's a lot more room for improvemtn that can be done on that engine.
Anyone think of maybe just porting this mod to BF2 and just improving it from there instead of creating something new from scratch? That way we would have something to bulid onto and improve which is easier than building a mod from nothing. I think we would have to get L etranger's permission but I don't see a problem with it. What dp you guys think?
Thing is that I am on Macintosh. When Aspyr decides to make BF2 into Mac, then that would be awesome

BF2 uses gamespy, and porters don't like that because the mac version of the SDK costs a fortune. That's also why they released a version of BF1942 that works with GameRanger.
That being said, it seems like they could make good money with BF2 for Mac, so they'll be definitely interested in porting it.
