Fun game I found, check the Other Games forum for the link. Here's a shot of running into a room with an energy shield. The flames are from a flame grenade a bot threw, and the explosions of a few barrels. It looks kinda strange stretched, but it looks better ingame.

 It runs in 320x240 to have a "classic" feel, but it's designed to be multiplatform and run on modern computers.

 It's not 8-bit or halo. It's a 2d deathmatch game designed for a smaller resolution. If you don't want to play, that's your loss I guess.
