ohay so, I was installing SP1, and it restarted and then ZOMG BLUE SCREEN, I googled the error and found out it weas a corrupt file, and there's fudge all I can do about it, I can't even format because I don't have the right CD, which would be useless to me because I do not know jack about that kinda stuff, so, I'll guess I'll take it somewhere or call someone and spend £100 getting it fixed, unless someone knows of a way to get it working for free?, the error is C1F5.

download an image and burn at a friends house if you don't have another PC with a burner in it, use cd along with your original key, reinstal. OR TRY XP UNTIL WINDOWS 7 COMES.

before you come to the vista loading screen, you can have the cd in your drive, start up the computer, at the POST screen, where the system checks the components integrity, you can press F8 (which is the mostly used default key for choosing boot device).
you will then see a menu where you can choose what device you want to boot from, select your dvd drive and press enter.
up will supposedly pop a question if you want to boot with the CD/DVD, press any key and you should be on your way into the windows setup.
from there, you can format the partition which contains the damaged version of windows, and install a fresh installment of your vista operating system. The install itself is very easy.
tell us about your progress if you encounter any errors or succeed.
Already tried, I chose the DVD to boot, it gets to twisted's first image of windows loading the files, then cuts to my image, then blue screens again, I've tried everything I can think of.

Okay I see, this has nothing to do with SP1, as the installer does not use any of the files on harddrive whle loading up. Any recent hardware changes? RAM or something? This can happen when memory goes bad. If you have enough RAM in your machine, try taking out some of the memory and try again. I dont know your setup, so its kinda hard to give any exact advice.
One more thing, does the bsod after you boot install-disk give the same error? C1F5
