Last Month the Japanese try to retrive this mod a little bit more. They played in the at 2pm CET. At the moment the gametracker, com Server Monitorring is off. Hope soon they turn it on. The ranking seems to work.
Using the Extractor or explorer mentioned above and a dds converter or photoshop with a dds plugin its easy to make custom textures The photoshop plugin can be found here You will also need these .ddl's Here(it also works with PaintShop) Or a very useful dds converter can be found here or here Another useful tool is the .dds Thumbnail Viewer. Allows you to view .dds files in Thumbnail view in the Windows Explorer. It can be found Here
Ok now once you find the texture you want to change extract it from the rfa using a rfa extractor/or explorer then either convert it useing the converter mentioned above or open it with photoshop using the plugin mentioned above, do what ever you want to it using what you start out with as a guide to where things will be placed
after your done save it, make it a dds whatever way suits your sitation and tada you have a new texture
now to put it in your map...
you can do this 2 ways
 if you are using ed42 then your map is already extracted all you do is make a folder in the bf1942/levels/mapname/ directory called mytexture (replacing mapname with your maps name ), put all of your textures there
then open the init.con found in your map bf1942/levels/mapname folder and replace the following line
then the next time you compile you will see all of your lovely new textures
 The other way is to add the dds files in through battlecraft, this saves the time of compiling but if you do it wrong then you will accumulate extra junk in your map that won't be used
now to add the files with battlecraft... open your map choose add file to archive under the tools menu in the destination add /mytexture to the end of the line and then add your dds files next up save your map then press f11 select your main init.con and replace the line
